The books in my house

A few weeks ago Posthipchick wrote about packing up books in her house so I was inspired to take some pictures of ours.

This is one side of the huge built-in bookcase in the parlor. It's totally disorganized. There are stacks of books behind the stacks of books.

The other side of the big bookcase. It's just as disorganized.

A few books I was reading to the Fiendling and a reference guide for myself.

Books dumped on the coffee table in the living room.

Big fancy books for people to browse in the living room. I think a Led Zeppelin box set got slipped in there as well.

Cookbooks.

For some reason this pop-up book sits on the bar.

Boyfiend's how-to section.

Books about teaching and assorted teaching reference materials.

These workbooks for the classroom have been banished to the inside of the cabinet. A few copies of a synonym/antonym dictionary and old National Geographics share the space. There are more workbooks and teaching materials boxed in the basement. I didn't feel like taking pictures of boxes.

This is our children's literature section. Some of the books will move into the Fiendling's room when we get a bookshelf in there. (Stuffed animals are occupying the shelf space now.)

Boyfiend's bedside books- a high school history book and a spiral bound volume about steam heat. Fascinating.

My bedside books. Way, way too many.

Are those nursing pads I see behind your bedside books?
